Dr
Asfaw is the Executive Director of RICH, the Refugee
and Immigrant Chamber of Commerce. He has a Master’s
degree in Public Health Administration and is one of
the founding members of RICH. He has 15 years experience
in economic and health services management, including
fundraising, grant administration and strategic planning
process implementation. Before joining RICH he was the
Program Director for the Jewish Family Services Business
and Career Development program. He has extensive experience
working with the Refuge and Immigrant community. He
has done career and business development for many individuals
and small businesses and will contribute significantly
in furthering the goals of the Work for New Life project.
His current responsibilities include oversight for Work
for New Life and Bridge the Skills projects. He manages
and coordinates program caseworkers, consultants, and
volunteers. He is developing collaborative efforts between
social service agencies, corporations, banks, foundations,
and government agencies. He supervises, recruits and
oversee project staff. He oversees and administers annual
budgets. He assesses and approves client enrollment.
